PM Vishwakarma Yojana News: The Central Government has recently launched a new scheme which is very beneficial for the traditional artisans and businessmen of the country. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. The government aims to benefit about 30 lakh families in the next 5 years under Vishwakarma Yojana. Vishwakarma Yojana is for people who have been doing traditional work/occupation for generations. Like carpentry, blacksmithing, pottery, goldsmithing, tailoring etc. These people have skills, but due to lack of money, they cannot expand their business. Therefore, through this scheme, they are being provided with training, tool kit and loan facility at low rate.

What is Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is a scheme implemented by Bharat Sakar which aims to encourage the traditional artisans and practitioners of the country to expand their businesses. Under this scheme, artisans are taught new ways of working, given new tools and will also be given loans at low interest rates.

Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana

• Under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, artisans get many benefits

• Free Training : Under this scheme artisans are trained in new techniques related to their work. This training is completely free.

• Daily Allowance: A daily allowance of Rs 500 is given to each artisan during training.

• Tool kit: After training, each artisan is given a tool kit worth up to Rs 15,000.

• Low Rate Loan: Under this scheme, loans of up to Rs 3 lakh are provided to artisans at only 5% interest.

• Digital Payment Bonus: If artisans make digital payments, they will get a bonus of Rs 1 on every transaction.

• Marketing Support: Government also helps artisans to sell their products.

Who is eligible for Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana?

• There are some conditions to avail this scheme

• Applicant should be at least 18 years of age.

• Applicants must be working in any one of the 18 traditional occupations.

• Applicant must have Aadhaar card.

• Applicant must have a bank account.

• The applicant has to provide proof of his work.

The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana covers the following 18 professions:

• Boat builders

• Basket/mat manufacturers

• Doll and toy manufacturers

• A necklace maker

• Makers of fishing nets

• Hammer and tool kit manufacturers
