The second official trailer for the final part of Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” adaptation is out and it’s three minutes of thrilling sci-fi fantasy action.
Forget for a moment any thoughts or feelings you may have had about the fact that the “Dune” story has been split into two parts, or even how you think this adaptation is going to be for Lynch. Steampunk compares to the 1984 version. For now, let’s enjoy the spice-rich sands of Arrakis and be grateful for this bountiful bounty from the science fiction gods. It’s going to be interesting and we’ll enjoy it no matter what, that much is for sure.
Without a doubt, one of the highlights is getting our first glimpse of Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken) and the formidable Fayed Routha (Austin Butler). Additional new faces include Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Souhela Yacoub as Sheeshkali.

The film’s official synopsis states that “Dune: Part Two” will trace the legendary journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chaney and Freeman on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he attempts to prevent a terrifying future that only he can imagine.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Villeneuve has said that he is also interested in doing a third film based on Herbert’s sequel novel “Dune Messiah”, although that project has not yet moved forward.
“Dune: Part Two” will hit theaters across the US on November 3, 2023.
