Human remains found in area where Julian Sands went missing in California

Authorities in Southern California found human remains on Saturday near a mountain where search crews were looking for British actor Julian Sands, who was reported missing in January.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement They were contacted around 10 a.m. local time on Saturday by hikers who had found human remains in the Mount Baldy Wilderness, which is 40 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

The department said the remains were brought to the coroner’s office and they are expected to be identified this week.

Dangerous conditions, including a series of severe storms in winter and snow and ice in June, have complicated search efforts for Mr Sands.

Mr Sands, 65, of North Hollywood, had gone hiking alone on the trail to Mount Baldy. On hiking websites, the popular trek is described as challenging and difficult.

Mr. Sands has appeared in more than 150 films and television shows, including his most famous role as George Emerson in the Oscar-nominated 1986 film “A Room with a View.”

The film, an adaptation of EM Forster’s novel, is often listed as one of the best British films of all time.

sheriff’s department provided an update On Mr Sands’ search last week, he said parts of the mountain were still inaccessible due to “extreme alpine conditions”, including steep terrain and ravines covered with more than 10 feet of snow and snow.

On June 17, more than 80 people helped to find him. The sheriff’s department said two helicopter and drone crews were used to investigate areas inaccessible to searchers on the ground.

The department said there have been eight searches for Mr Sands and eight other unrelated search and rescue operations in the Mount Baldy area since January.

The department said it had responded to 14 rescue operations for lost, trapped and injured hikers on Mount Baldy and the surrounding area over a four-week period ending January 18. Two pedestrians did not survive after falling and injuring themselves.

It is not a celebration of the self, but an eradication of one’s self-consciousness. And so in these journeys you lose yourself, you become a vessel of energy in harmony, hopefully, with your environment.
