Human remains have been found on Mount Baldy on Saturday.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, civilian hikers discovered human remains around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Although officials have not identified who is dead, the news comes just days after resuming a search for missing actor Julian Sands, who was last seen hiking near the area in January 2023 Was.

Before Sands was reported missing, 75-year-old Jin Chung was rescued after briefly disappearing from a hiking trail. Both the missing cases came to light when a woman died after slipping off a nearly 500-foot-tall snow slide.

Sands, an avid hiker and climber, was reported missing on January 13 after summiting a peak more than 10,000 feet east of Los Angeles. The region was hit by severe storms during the winter.
