A Special Air Quality Statement has been issued for most of Southern Ontario including London-Middlesex, Huron-Perth and Sarnia-Lambton.
According to meteorologist Julie Atchison of CTV News London, smoke from wildfires in northern Ontario is entering the area through a high-pressure system, and is prompting special air quality statements.
On Wednesday morning Atchison said poor air quality would continue throughout the day and was expected to fall into the “high risk” category.
Given the Canada Day long weekend, wildfire smoke is expected to subside, but rain is expected on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and temperatures will reach the mid-to-high 20s.
