Benefits of PM Matru Vandana Yojana

Under PM Matru Vandana Yojana, pregnant women of the country are given financial assistance of ₹ 5,000 at the time of pregnancy. Which is given to the woman in three installments:

The birth of the girl child will be registered under this scheme. The girl child has received all appropriate vaccinations from the date of birth till she attains fourteen weeks of age under the Universal Immunization Program of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.6,000/-

Importance of PM Matru Vandana Yojana

  1. Aadhaar of the beneficiary’s husband is not mandatory to avail benefits under the scheme.
  2. All pregnant women and lactating mothers employed in regular employment in the Central Government or State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or who are receiving such benefits under any law, will not be entitled to get benefits under PMMVY.

Eligibility for PM Matru Vandana Yojana

  1. The age of the applicant must be at least 19 years and she must be a pregnant woman.
  2. The applicant must be employed and facing loss of salary due to pregnancy.
  3. This scheme will be applicable only for the first live birth.
  4. Eligible beneficiaries can apply for benefits under the PMMVY scheme within 270 days from the birth of the child.
  5. If a beneficiary gives birth to twins/triplets/quadruplets in her second pregnancy, one or more of whom are girls, she will get incentive for the second girl child as per PMMVY 2.0 norms.
